Light Phone III

A very expensive (at least at the proposed price, maybe it will go down later), simple phone.

1. Initial Thoughts

[2025-06-17 Tue] The more I use this thing the more I love it! It's hard to explain why. Best I can come up with is it feel like it was made with intention.
[2025-05-28 Wed] Seems the device has stopped charging > 68%.. Email'd support about it.
[2025-05-22 Thu] Went to bed with the device at 40%. When I woke up it was powered off. After plugging in and holding various buttons for various times it booted back up and showed 29%. Hmm.
[2025-05-21 Wed] Had disconnected from the charger yesterday. When I woke up this am it was at 70%. 10AM and it's at 61%. Pretty happy with that!

I also put the screen protector on.. not so happy with that. The feel of the screen is not as amazing now.
[2025-05-20 Tue] Build quality is quite nice, the screen feels fantastic.

I use set the screen to "inverted" because white on black is hard for me to use. However, this makes things extremely bright (even with the brightness dialed all the way down). Having auto-switching would be very welcome. Update [2025-06-24 Tue]: this is much less of an issue. The amount of time I use the device is very minimal.
One thing I think will be a major issue is the lack of do-not-disturb mode. I get a lot of spam calls. Update [2025-06-24 Tue]: this is also a non-issue, when I don't want to get any calls I just turn the ringer off with the volume buttons.
- Another side of this is that I can't have priority on specific callers.
The camera is pretty slow. I knew this going in, and it's faster than I expected, but I really hope they can up the speed and quality of the pictures. Update [2025-06-24 Tue]: The camera keeps getting faster with every software update they do!
I really dislike that the contacts sync to their service even if you have "Sync" disabled.
- Need to try syncing music to it without using their service… .. nope.
Can't directly transfer music or other files to / from the device.

[2024-06-15 Sat] At this price point it seems reasonable. I would not purchase at the projected price.
