My current NAS (NixOS) is starting to show signs of wear (constant high CPU / RAM usage). It might be time to start looking into another setup.

1.1. Framework Mainboard
Maybe I can use my old Framework mainboard as a nas?

1.2. Dell R610
I have an old Dell r610 that might be usable?
It has 6 ports for 2.5 inch drives, I semi-recently replaced the RAID controller with a DELL YK838 Perc 6ir Sas Raid Controller which can do JBOD.
To get full usage of the disks, maybe I could PXE boot.. or do root-on-ZFS.
